• The court can order supervised probation, at a cost of $50 per month, for 18 months. You will also pay $160 in court costs and $100 for a domestic violence evaluation.


• You can be prohibited from owning a gun for the rest of your life, the violation of which is a federal felony.


• Because domestic violence is often considered a crime of "moral turpitude," you could be ineligible for citizenship and subject to deportation or loss of legal status.
